MJS is an educational platform and network of professional jazz musicians.

Aspires to become the link of international jazz artists, an associate of educational institutes and contribute into the debate for jazz and improvisation.

Mission

At MJS our mission and dream is to spread the idea of improvisation as a language and the tradition of Jazz music. Raise awareness about the values of this form of art to the broader audience, to become the point of reference and exchange of knowledge , sharing experience and expertise , encouraging debates thus connecting professional jazz artists and international educational institutes with young aspiring musicians.

With the creation of engaging educational programs, the launch of workhops/lectures and the development of a summer school MJS aims to offer to the future professional musicians the tools for their search into the art of improvisation and provide the philosophy to develop their own jazz sound.

How All Started!

Began as the working space of some of the most active and creative jazz musicians in the city of the Hague in 2015 and since has been the meeting point of their musical conversations and the “Home” of their creativity. Their desire to pass the message of jazz to the broader audience help young musicians and music enthusiasts to become acquainted with the art of improvisation and the sound of jazz gave it’s name as MJS , “my jazz studio” in 2017. Now MJS is getting the next step and expands it’s activities, is traveling over the borders with the aim to bring international jazz artists and performers together to a new music adventure with the same enthusiasm as the day that all began.
